Greetings to all guild members and artisans.

We are Josephine Nittolo owner of JHR Loveables and Rosemary Hull owner of Calico Arts. We are co-owners of the Artisans Market, a consignment shop, at the Mount Hope Wineries festivals which include the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair. We are offering all artisans a way to sell their work at a price that is worthy of their talents. In this market, the patrons are looking for unique and hand made original work. They are willing to pay a fair price for this and come back repeatedly during the season to purchase gifts and items for themselves as well as others. Guests enjoy learning about the artisans and how their work is done. We demonstrate spinning, weaving, beading, etc. and welcome other artisans who are willing to demonstrate their craft to others.

The Artisans Market is under contract to offer juried goods only to ensure that these works are truly of the old world fashion (knitting, crocheting, quilting, unique wood works, original dolls by artisans, basket weaving, weaving of fiber, etc.). We have agreed to offer only unique items that are not offered elsewhere in the park. Therefore, samples of work must be presented to The Artisans Market jury for acceptance. We are offering to the guilds and artisans the opportunity to use us as a vessel, to sell their hand made items. In this way artisans will be viewed as artisans and their work will be seen in a market that truly values their work. We ask for each artisan to price their work with an understanding that we deduct 30% of the price as our commission (which includes all handling, setup, displays, etc.). All items to be sold for opening day are to be in our hands by no later than April 15th of 2001. Our merchant’s tent is in a prime location at the Mount Hope Wineries festival park located at Mount Hope Estate & Winery, Cornwall, Pa. The Artisans Market is provided with proper security for the whole season. The festivals that take place are on the weekends. School and camp days are for children and their chaperones during the week. There are approximately 2,000 student plus their chaperones on the school and camp days and as many as 4,000 + people on each festival day. Come see us at the festivals between May and October and enjoy the atmosphere they render.
